All of the electricity for Larry Hagman's Ojai, California estate, Heaven, is provided by solar energy. One of the solar arrays powering the home is visible on the left, outlined in red. The 2003 blackout affecting much of the Northeastern United States prompted Hagman to produce his own electricity. Below, Larry is standing at the corner of one of the larger (34.47 kw) solar arrays at Heaven.
In July, 2010, Larry Hagman became the spokesman for SolarWorld, the largest solar panel manufacturer in the U.S. Hagman, on the board of the Solar Electric Light Fund, a non profit orgainization which provides solar power installations to villages in developing countries, was instrumental in bringing the charity together in partnership with SolarWorld. SolarWorld made a generous donation to SELF's Haiti relief efforts, providing solar power to medical clinics in the disaster ravaged country. Larry's SolarWorld ads and photos are available for download from the SolarWorld web site.
On August 13, Larry Hagman received the Jules Verne Nature Award for his Outstanding Contribution to Evironmental Education and the
Promotion of Solar Energy. More on this event, including photos,

electric car and an electric motorcycle.
