Next up, an I Dream of Jeannie DVD signing in Manhattan in March of 2006. Again, too close to pass up. I bought a B&W first season DVD set in the Barnes & Noble hosting the event. Waiting on line with other fans was fun, as their enthusiasm was contagious. They eventually let us line up inside the store. In addition to Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden, Larry's wife and granddaughter attended.
Then the frustration began. Larry and Barbara posed for photos, but not for us. The press crowded in front of them, blocking our view! Definitely not a good time to be 5'2"! We were treated like cattle, rushed along. Not everyone got their DVDs signed, but luckily we did! Nice to see Larry again, however briefly! After they left we met and spoke to I Dream of Jeannie creator Sidney Sheldon's granddaughter. I then stopped for some delicious New York pizza (there is nothing like it ANYWHERE) and went home.
