Two March Love Letters shows in New York, one in Staten Island and another at West Point, were to originally to have starred Barbara Eden and Tony Curtis. Much to our delight, this was changed to Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman. The first show (Staten Island) had a meet and greet after the show, which I gladly bought tickets for. This performance was even better than the last florida show! It was fascinating to watch Larry's performance evolve with each show. This time we were allowed one signed item apiece as well as photos with the stars. I got my A Howling in the Woods poster, which Barbara Eden signed in Florida, signed by Larry! Of course, I also got more photos from the performance, and a nice one of Larry after the show. The photo of me with Larry and Barbara didn't come out too well. I was in focus, they were not! The other way around would be better!
The West Point show was a fantastic experience! As a shy person, I don't ever get in on anything exciting, unless I hang out with more outgoing people. It's all in who you know! Linda had gotten to know Barbara Eden's "keepers," and she had met Barbara several times. After the show, there was a private party, "by invitation only." Linda's connections got us all in! At first I sat down at a table and observed. I saw Larry posing for photos with many different people. After a while, I realized that he didn't know them; they were just fans! So I took my camera and headed towards him. I took some photos of my friends with him, and then it was my turn. Each time I meet Larry, I feel more comfortable with him. This time, we put our arms around each other for the picture, and he says "the light isn't right" and turns us around, guiding me by my waist. The picture taken, we shake hands and I move back to allow another lucky person to get their hands on Larry! Soon, Larry leaves and a small group of us are escorted to another room where Larry and Barbara are signing autographs. I had them sign a photo of me with both of them, taken in Florida. We are then asked to leave, so we moved out into the lobby. Larry, Maj, Barbara and their group filed past us, waving and saying goodbye! All of us were riding high after that experience!
Finally, the date for the dinner was set for July 22nd. It was really going to happen! It would turn out to be one of the most magical experiences of my life!
